What is C.R.O.W.N.?

  • Covenant Recreation Opportunity of Wakefield NE is a safe and fun recreation program that serves the needs of students and adults within Wakefield and surrounding communities.
  • What makes C.R.O.W.N. different is that we include aspects of faith the seeks to ignite the Spirit of God in those we serve. We strive to bring others to Christ by being an example of Christ’s love to all who participate in our program.
  • C.R.O.W.N. is a non-licensed drop-in program that runs from 7am-6pm Monday- Friday starting May 20th- Aug. 16th at the Wakefield Evangelical Church (802 Winter St.).
             C.R.O.W.N. will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays, Memorial Day  and July 4th

 

 
Who Can attend C.R.O.W.N.?
  • Students going into Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to attend the program.  

 

 
What does C.R.O.W.N. Cost?
  • When a student is registered, they can purchase either a five-day punch card for $100 or a ten-day punch card for $150
              -  Each student MUST purchase their own card. Cards are not transferable between family members or other
                  students.

               -  Each day a student attends C.R.O.W.N., a staff member will punch their card. When their card runs out of
                     punches the family will need to purchase a new punch card.
 
      The card is only good for the summer of 2019.

      o Pay with check at the church office (make check out to Covenant Church with C.R.O.W.N. in the memo)
      o Or pay with credit card at the Church office.

 

 
What does a day at C.R.O.W.N. look like?

Sample Daily Schedule*

  • 7:00-8:00 Quiet activities/ outside play
  • 8:00-8:30 Breakfast/AM Snack.
  • 9:00 – 9:30 Morning Meeting
  • 9:30 -10:30 Program Room Activity (Stem, Art, Science, etc…)
  • 10:30 – 11:00 Outdoor Playtime
  • 11:00 – 11:45 Program Room Activity (Stem, Art, Science, etc…)
  • 11:45  Washup for lunch
  • 12:00 - 1:00 Lunch & outside play
                - During part of this time we may walk to the pool or a park for an afternoon activity.
  • 3:30 - 4:00 Snack
  • 4:00 - 4:45 Outside play
  • 4:45 – 6:00 Slow down and relax in different program room activities

*This is what a daily schedule may look like, but not what it is limited to.
We would ask family and staff to pay close attention to our Facebook page,
and signs posted in the building to tell you what is happening on a specific day.

 
Please Note:
C.R.O.W.N. is a DROP-IN PROGRAM, meaning that students may come
and go as they please WITH parent and staff acknowledgement.

 

 
What type of Activities will C.R.O.W.N. offer?

  • STEM Hands on Programs
  • Art
  • Natural Sciences
  • Board Games
  • Movie Days
  • Outdoor play (in the big field across from the church)
  • Playground time (at the School Playground)
  • Pool days
         -  Students going to the pool with C.R.O.W.N. Staff will be required to purchase their own pool pass or 
          provide enough funds to purchase their own entry into the pool.
        - We will be walking to the pool.
  • Summer Reading Program at the Gardener Public Library

 

 
Lunch and Snack time info:

  • Morning and afternoon snack will be provided through C.R.O.W.N.
  • Students staying at C.R.O.W.N. over the noon hour will be required to bring their own sack lunch.

 

 
Ways for Parents to participate at C.R.O.W.N.:

  • Join us for Friday Lunches
  • Come as a pool day chaperone
  • Be a guest speaker
  • Stop by on your break to play games with us during designated game time.
